Vishaka Child Center

Vishaka Child Center, inspiring journey through 68 years of nurturing children who have lost their family attention and special needs in Sri Lanka. Begin with a single step in 1952 by Sir Cyril de Soysa and  Mrs. Elvin Wickramasinghe and today Mrs. Kusuma Wanigarathna devote his time.., wealth of knowledge and experiences to care for the many children walk in through our doors and continues to guide and inspire the Vishaka family.

With this goal of early detection and early intervention’ in mind, Vishaka Children’s Resource Centre was established adjacent to the Vishaka Child Development and Rehabilitation Center. Today we reach over 12 staff members as in-house and 10 outbound with the charity and volunteers surround nearly 110 children and young adults annually across Sri Lanka. It has gain recognition Island wide and internationally for its comprehensive and well- structured services that meet their emotional , physical, educational and spiritual needs .  Much care and expertise go into assessing the strengths and weaknesses of each child. A majority are from low-income families that rely on our Center for the well being of their children.
